Club Annual general meeting held on 17th Jan, 2021 Sunday at 7pm via zoom:

The second AGM for the Finglas Cricket Club (FCC) was held virtually via a zoom call on the 17th Jan, 2021 Sunday at 7pm, keeping in mind the current Covid restrictions. FCC would like to extend a big thanks to all the players, officials, parents, and the young and budding cricketers for their participation.

Romy Mathew, the club president, presided over the meeting. Dvinder Singh (Sunny) gave the overview of the club’s achievements and its future and prospects. Syam Mohan the club secretary provided the annual report highlighting the club’s performance from the last season.

The biggest achievement, which FCC is proud of, is that the club grew to double its size compared to the last year, which keeping in mind the COVID time and a short season is something to be proud of.

The club now boasts of its own home ground at the Poppintree Park, Balbutcher Ln, Ballymun. Plans for Indoor and outdoor cricket facilities are being chalked out at the venue in addition to a new bowling machine which is already available.

FCC would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to its treasurer Jinson John, who has decided to step down in order to concentrate more on his cricket and coaching the junior members. Sajesh Sudersanan has been elected as the new treasurer of the club.

For you youth development Chetan Mahadev has been elected as the Youth Secretary.

A two-member public relations team (PRO) has been set up, which will be responsible for the club’s outreach and social media presence. This team comprises of Ankesh Mishra and Dhanaraj Mavila

Syam Mohan, the secretary for the club provided updates for the Senior team’ stats. Vishnu Kichu scored the highest 182 runs for Finglas 2 and Vijay Gopal scored 176, the highest for Finglas 1. Vishnu hit a staggering 20 sixes across the 6 matches he played. Devinder Singh had the highest individual alongside his name scoring 74 vs Malahide. Jaydev Divakar shone in the season with two half centuries. Arun Nair (for Finglas 1) and Jerry Noble (Finglas 2) took 8 wickets each from the 5 games they featured in. Joy Samuel git the best bowling figures for the season with a 5 wicket haul against Tyrellstown, which includes a hattrick.

Jinson John (92 Runs and 6 wickets) and Yashraj Mate (70 runs and 7 wickets) were the stand-out all rounders for the season. Both featured in 6 games for Finglas 1.

George Sebastian, the Youth Team manager, presided over the Youth’s award section of the AGM.

The Youth teams have grown leaps and bounds. Some of the notable awards in the Youth team sections are as below:

  • Most improved player of the season: Advik Chetan (13 runs and 3 wickets from 5 games) and Rohan Praveen

  • Best Bowler: Ronn Matthew (10 wickets in the season).

  • Player of the year: Reuben Matthew (Played all three division of youth, Total runs – 70 Wickets -13).

FCC would like to thank the coaching staff and the management for the youth teams. A special mention to the parents and FCC hopes for your continues support through the years to come.

Deepu Jose, captain of Finglas 1 senior team, provided a vote of thanks. A special mention to Shiny Augustine, our Child welfare officer and Reji Koottungal for representing FCC at the Dublin City Council. FCC would like to thank Dublin City council for their continued help and support. FCC would like to thank its players, support staff and every individual who helped us make this season a successful one.
